718 black screen with fixed screen options

Question

This problem affects 60 - 70% of users joining my server and I am unable to find a solution.

If you load the client and you have an old or slow computer the client will default to fixed screen options, then when you log in it will just load a black screen with no interfaces and there's a bunch of errors output in the console. Please note this is different to the regular black screen issue that all 718 servers seem to suffer from which is caused by the cache not loading quick enough and you just have to wait around and it normally sorts itself out.

If anyone has a solution to either of these problems it would be great if you could share a solution or possible solution - something that I can try if I haven't already tried. It's worth mentioning that I've tried several things that have been suggested previously such as using a different cache and using a different client.

I think he's using matrix source, and cache but he would have to clarify that.

These are my thoughts also. I've taken parts from some different servers. Originally it was Matrix but I've taken parts from Rune Elevation server and Feather server and modified a lot of the code myself. I'm not sure what modifications would have an effect on the cache or client though so this could be irrelevant. I've tried Matrix client with a "fixed" low graphics cache. I've tried Matrix source and client with the cache. I've tried every combination of these, they all produce the same problem which leads me to believe that the problem may reside with the server.

Tell them before to change the settings of the graphics BEFORE they log in by clicking the wrench icon top right of client and set to LOW then when in game they can change to what they want. If I were you I wouldn't even worry because its real common unless you payed someone for a fixed cache that has a lot of null other things in it like models. This issue is also a computer/java issue too because they have not updated theirs. Tell them to go to Oracle and get the latest Java update.
