Hello, I noticed 'Netty'. Could you explain to me how to use Netty? I am making [URL="http://www.runelocus.com/forums/showthread.php?92208-New-kind-of-RSPS-based-on-the-Bukkit-%28Minecraft%29-system"]this[/URL] but I really don't want to find out the netcode used in a rs client. As Netty works with other sources, I can base myself off of that to send and receive packets.

netty is a type of networking
other ones are mina, most commonly used was netty 3.8 witch apollo uses

Yes, I know it's for networking but... I mean like how does it work internally. What exactly is it for? (why should I use it), How to use it? ...

i posted a few link on it, its hard to explain how touse it really, if you downloaded apollo im sure you could look and see how it was used that how i learned it

it will make your server run faster and you will notice the player max hold will be better


mina servers usually can hold 200-500 players on a normal computer

netty servers can hold up to 2k on a normal computer Edited by Bezza

Netty is an networking library used mainly for asynchronous IO/NIO. NIO tends to be a lot faster/lower latency/etc. than traditional IO.
