Gaming PC Build

Recommended Posts

New:

Went to a PC store today and told them what I was looking for. After talking with them for a while, we came up with a build that should run well for a gaming computer.

Here's the parts:

Tower: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119197
Motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131767
Video Card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130770
Power Supply: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171039
Processor: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103961
Memory Cards (2): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148346
Hard Drive: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136769
DVD: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827106352
Windows 7: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16832116716

On Newegg it came out to be around $890, not including shipping + tax. The store will sell all the pieces + build it for $1,100, after tax. So they'll make about $100 for labor, which is fine by me and my Dad.

I was wondering if this is good for my gaming needs, and if I should change anything.
Thanks. :)
Change RAM and video card.
What should I change it to, and why?
It'll have 8gb of ram and 2 slots to upgrade if I want to go to 16gb.

Because 1333 latency isn't nice, and the quality the sticks aren't the best.

Can you dumb down the 1333 latency? Not sure what it means. And what do you mean the quality isn't the best? Do they tend to mess up?

Another question I have that I didn't get a chance to ask the guy at the store, is the power supply good enough? I've seen some reviews and people are pretty iffy on how they like it.

Latency is speed, basically. The RAM I picked out are much better quality. The PSU should be fine, it's cooler master.

So basically, with the graphics card you picked out, I'll get better framerate?
