Christopher` 8 #31 Posted July 2, 2012
Not sure what to think now. My Dad told me to take a look at this: http://www.amazon.com/Dell-AX51-0066BK-Alienware-Desktop/dp/B006WYVLNI
I saw 'Alienware' and I can already tell you that it's going to be shitty. bl00dshooter 0 #34 Posted July 2, 2012 My current card is a gtx 550ti, and plays any game that I've tried so far on max with over 30fps. You can have it for almost the same price as the 6770 (125 bucks), and it apparently outperforms it (http://www.hwcompare.com/9712/geforce-gtx-550-ti-vs-radeon-hd-6770/), not to mention that it's from nvidia (so more widely supported as far as I am aware, plus Phsyx). Also, why one Earth would you "need" to buy windows? That's nonsense, unless you're in a corporate environment where you have to follow the law.

AMD processors have better synergy with Radeon HD, and Intel has better synergy with nVidia.

They're the only ISP where I live.

IMO, it might be worth to save like 50-100 extra bucks and get an i3/i5. Preferably the i5, since it's good enough for gaming and not as expensive as the i7. Plus, it will work better with a nvidia card.

It's not that they are necessarily weak, but you can usually get more for less if you build it yourself. Regardless, it's very likely that new cards (like the gtx 550) will be compatible with non-ancient motherboards, so probably no worries there. Also, I'd suggest going to a friend's house (or even a café) and torrenting windows there. You will save a couple hundred bucks that way.
