irrelevance 0 #11 Posted April 7, 2012
Just cleaned it a few days ago. I would buy a new one, but right now I'm saving for a build. It'll still be a month or two before I have the money though, so I want to make sure this one doesn't burn itself before I do have the money.
Could be internal fan failure, maybe failure of some part. Blake 9 #14 Posted April 7, 2012 My laptop has had the same problem for quite a while. I just bought this kick-ass chill pad https://www.google.com/search?aq=1&oq=targus+gaming+chill+mat&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=targus+hd3+gaming+chill+mat Before I got it, I broke the 200 mark on my GPU while I was playing hardcore games (Skyrim @ ultra, etc). Since I've started using it, I haven't gotten passed ~150 degrees. It's definitely worth buying.. especially if it's starting to smell like something's burning; the fan is much cheaper than a new computer xD.

I'll try to get one soon. Does it make it a bitch when you try to use it on your lap though?
