packing and unpacking files

Hey i need to know how to pack and unpack files..can anyone give me a little tut on how to do this please/thankyou you can pm me if you dont want others to know this :P

like in my npc folder theres packedDrops.d and the extention is .d but idk of anything on how to unpack and re pack them so i can edit them. i've tried 7zip, win.rar and HjSplit but there must be another way please help.

Well first search through your source files looking for .d or packeddrops.d there might be a .java file that packs them all you need to do if you find it is make a file which does the oppsite to the code that packs them.... i think not 100% sure
