3. Seeking someone who can help me figure out why I cannot run a rsps client anymore. I have a feeling my Environmental Variables are messed up. And and I replace the java in the source and client files. I recently quit rsps hosting and coding for about a year now and came back thought i could get back into the swing of things. Yet i cannot even get logged into a source and client. If anyone has teamviewer I would appreciate some help if you think you could figure out the problem. CLASSPATH C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_25\bin;%CLASSPATH%; PATH C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_25\bin;
4. Hey Rune-Locus, Hope you're all having a great day. Thanks for taking the time out to check my post. Quick intro: Currently I'm employed as a system administrator/developer within the Unix world. My preferences in terms of languages are php, C# (.NET really), perl, bash and more recently, Java. I've been a freelance developer in my own time for quite a while -- with projects involving development work on San Andreas Multiplayer game-modes scripted in PAWN (C-like language), to building desktop applications written solely in C#. More recently however my interests have swung in the way of software development within the gaming arena; specifically for an RSPS. Now that I've covered my introduction and general interests, what I'm posting for is to try and recruit a few people who are knowledgable of the game's content and what features are sought after in modern servers. I'm more than happy to develop both the web and game platforms, however don't exactly know what direction is best to head in. My intentions are to use a distribution more modern than the 317 one; I'm not a fan of having the screen in a little square - 1920x1080 all the way! And standard legacy combat is also going to be part of the underlying foundation. Other than that, everything else is pretty customisable. I've already got a name for the server, a VPS running Ubuntu, have deployed and installed the forum system, and have set up MySQL (which is used as a platform for the forum database). All that needs to be done web-wise is the categorisation, staff hierarchy system, and the custom theme; all of which ultimately cannot really be done until we've decided the direction for the server (version and type; PK, skilling etc), as it'll have a fairly large influence on all three. So, I hope from the above you've gotten an idea of the type of help I need and the knowledge expected of the people I'm looking to recruit. If interested, please post below with an e-mail address I can contact you on and I'll discuss the above with you privately. You must be at least 16 years old and have the knowledge required. No rewards are promised, but dedication and loyalty do vouch well when I begin seeking staff members. Thanks for taking the time to read through my post, Morpheus
5. In my assisting making a reproduction of a 317 revision on providing accurate information on key items of the game in its revision and no coding on my part, an in-game mechanic came up as an up/down disagreement. According to playtime on the OSRS multiple people can steal from the same stall if everyone times their stealing and subsequently gets their random item or sole item from a shared steal. Though, my experience as a Runescape member started in 2009, so I don't have first hand experience concerning if this was truly a mechanic within the code. Through researching this implement from a source around that era from any archived website or snippet, nothing could be garnered. So, does anyone that has actual game time as of the 317 revision remember as playing members of Runescape in being able to share in stealing from the same stall each attempt? The more people admitting to this, the greater an impact I can give to my superiors of the RSPS I help with in solving this mechanic. Don't be shy if a few people admit or disagree, I would like anyone to admit this was in there or not.
6. SSo, I am re starting a project. For those who have been in the RSPS community for awhile, I have been around since 2005 or so. The best RSPS I ever played was "Lost-pkz" and if you were around during those times, you would know what I am talking about. Anyways, I want to bring a server back to its feet. I am seeking experienced developer(s). When (notice I am saying WHEN, not IF because I know if I have a developer as committed as I am to the server, we WILL succeed). I WILL be paying, so I really would like someone really good and someone who wants to make money as well. But, I need to know you're committed to being MY developer. I am looking for someone who knows their shit well. If you are interested, please post here, PM me & show me some of your old work. I need to know what you can do. Or, add me on skype and we can go from there: MahdyE23 *I can do everything forum sided pretty much. I have vBulletin forums already up, will be doing auto donations and forum + server integration. Regards, Mahdy.

8. My forums are up. I am looking for experienced server developers. I want to start a 317 server. I am looking for experienced coders; I want to make this server a good skilling, ECO & pking server. Pay will be given once the server is out and donations start rolling in and server expenses are paid for (monthly). If you are experienced and dedicated enough, you will be paid, in due time. If you have no interest, simply press the back button. If you are interested, please PM me, post here, or add me on my skypee: MahdyE23 and we could go from there. Again, I already have forums up and running. I just paid for webhosting the other day and now the forums are up. I have a legit vBulletin forum software & I want to try and make the server integrated with the forums. Looking for replies and PMs. Regards, Mahdy.
9. Hi everyone, The reason I am coming to you today is to search for a team of dedicated, experienced java coders, also 2 php coders. All expenses regarding hosting of the server, web host, and domain is taken care of. I have a dedicated server with 4 cores cpu and 7 gb ram available for use on this project. I am looking to start up a Large scale server, of the 718 revision. My plan is to start off with one skilling world, and later move on to have two worlds, on skilling on pvp dedicated. When joining this project you ARE joining as an owner, and everyone on the team has an equal say as to what we do. If you are interested please PM me, reply to this thread, or contact me via skype(preferred):Microchip1233 Thank You.
10. Ok. So I've been learning about RS protocol on my own, lately (netty) and I get the concept, kinda. The server connects it's port to the client using netty, than the client and server send/receive packet's and processes it differently depending on the packet id. Well, I'm not understanding this:
int bytePos = bitPosition >> 1779819011; int i_8_ = -(0x7 & bitPosition) + 8; bitPosition += bitOffset; int value = 0; for (/**/; (bitOffset ^ 0xffffffff) < (i_8_ ^ 0xffffffff); i_8_ = 8) { value += (BIT_MASK[i_8_] & buffer[bytePos++]) << -i_8_ + bitOffset; bitOffset -= i_8_; } if ((i_8_ ^ 0xffffffff) == (bitOffset ^ 0xffffffff)) value += buffer[bytePos] & BIT_MASK[i_8_]; else value += (buffer[bytePos] >> -bitOffset + i_8_ & BIT_MASK[bitOffset]);
notice all the math and bitwise symbols etc in there and what not, I don't get the point of that.. I also don't understand the "Bit mask" array in the client and server
private static final int[] BIT_MASK = new int[] { 0, 1, 3, 7, 15, 31, 63, 127, 255, 511, 1023, 2047, 4095, 8191, 16383, 32767, 65535, 131071, 262143, 524287, 1048575, 2097151, 4194303, 8388607, 16777215, 33554431, 67108863, 134217727, 268435455, 536870911, 1073741823, 2147483647, -1 };
There's no full blown tutorials or explanations on how it works, and I really want to get involved in more advanced programming so I can eventually create my own framework.
11. Greetings, I'm Thuum. I've played a number of private servers during my time and I have had experience with various communities in different gaming environments. I recently was pondering my thoughts about creating a runescape private server community. I compiled a collection of goals and ideals to perhaps strive for or point for as goals. Unfortunately, I am only experienced in the field of Information Technology. This is more so an idea for a server, goals, and infrastructure. I do not not have any programming experience or server administration experience either. I do not have nearly enough resources for a community of this stature, however I am reaching out to any aspiring or experienced developer or server administrator to maybe assist me in the creation or administration of a server. In doing so, I have written a set of goals or features for this prospective 'project' Goals - Maintain a well structured community - Determine a name for the said server. - Obtain developers and/or a source/base for the server. - Acquire an Administration Team - Compile a successful, well developed server with numerous features. Prospective Features I am thinking that this project will turn into a 317 server. I have not thought of any concurrent features, but perhaps some members may suggest some -- - A well-coded set of administration commands - Unique features not found in other servers, (Grand Exchange, Anti-PJ System, EXP Lock) - A Balanced Economy - Dedicated Server (As disclosed above, I do not have such a dedicated server or the resources to maintain it) If you have any inquiries or suggestions, please reply with feedback. I am aware that the content of this thread is minimal, however I have a certain ambition to create a successful community. If you're experienced and would be willing to assist me, contact me through my skype: damien.lotc1 Best Regards, Thuum
12. im looking for a person who is willing to put 50% effort into my server for the title of co-owner please reply to the thread my msn address is [email protected]
13. I am looking for highly experienced programmers which are fluent in Java, you must know what you are doing. What is Sythril you might ask Sythril was founded in Feburary of 2010, our goal was to create a server which focused on the desires of the community while creating a fun and child friendly environment. Previously Sythril has worked on releasing a server to the community but unfortunately I along with our other developers had multiple things come up in our everyday lives that prevented us from ever finishing the project. Sythril currently has over 4,000 registered members and has around 500 guests visiting daily. What we're looking for We are seeking a balance between an economy and skilling server, our primary goal would be to provide a great economy based server, ultilizing skills, minigames and boss hunting, but still including things such as pking and dueling however the economy aspect would be the primary focus unlike most servers. We are seeking up to a 474 revision, perhaps loading higher items and npcs. What we have to offer Sythril has a valid vBulletin license and we're currently running 3.8.7 We offer an established community which is often most of the work Sythril has custom designed hiscores, and a custom designed Moderator Control Panel for the server. We take care of all the costs of the hosting You become an owner working along side me, we will both be equals. We already have multiple ideas for content, what we need is a server and client. Our Current Team Luke - Luke is our primary owner, he is also our web developer and works on things such as the server moderator control panel and hiscores, Luke also currently handles most of the community administration. Zman - Zman is primarily a content developer and focuses on new updates such as NPC placement, skill placement, and NPC drops. Basically anything content related Zman is our go-to guy. Requirements You must be fluent in Java Must be trustworthy and have a good reputation with the community Work must be done in a timely manner Team work, while you will be the programmer for the server we do have content developers which you would work long side with to implement new updates. You must remain active A general understand on SQL, as the forums and server will be integrated. How do you join? You will first need to contact me and provide some background on yourself and why you want to join the project, we'll have an interview and then myself and Zman will discuss each of the applicants and give each of you a response of if you've been accepted or denied. Contact Us The best way to contact us about any interests would be to register on our website Sythril and send me Luke a private message. You can also contact me by email at "][email protected] On a final note, if you have not caught on already I expect you to bring a source and client that you wish to work with. I do not want a sloppy PI source though I expect you to work with something decent along the lines of Shards, Hyperion or maybe Azure. Payment and such would be dicussed later on if we decide if you're acceptable.
