7. This is a tutorial to show you how to make a pretty cool CSS button using an anchor tag. What we will be making: (Don't mind the subtle dotted border, by browser did that because I clicked it. XD) Save these images first: ButtonOne.png ButtonOneHover.png First off what we need to do is make an anchor tag and give it a class of buttonOne.
<a href="#" class="buttonOne">View Downloads >></a>
Next thing we need to do is style the anchor tag. We can do that by pasting the following into a css file or whereever you want to put it. (Assuming you know what I mean...)
a.buttonOne { font-family:"Myriad Pro","Lucida Sans Unicode","Lucida Grande",sans-serif; display: block; border: 1px solid #0068b7; height: 25px; padding: 5px; line-height: 25px; width: 200px; text-align: center; border-radius: 5px; background: #111111 url(images/buttonOne.png) repeat-x; margin-top: 10px; color: #ffffff; text-decoration: none; font-weight: normal !important; text-shadow: 0 0 1px #00459a; clear: both; } a:hover.buttonOne { font-family:"Myriad Pro","Lucida Sans Unicode","Lucida Grande",sans-serif; display: block; border: 1px solid #0068b7; height: 25px; padding: 5px; line-height: 25px; width: 200px; text-align: center; border-radius: 5px; background: #111111 url(images/buttonOneHover.png) repeat-x; margin-top: 10px; color: #ffffff; text-decoration: none; font-weight: normal !important; text-shadow: 0 0 1px #00459a; }
I don't really know how to explain it further. If you have any questions be sure to ask! :D
