3. Hello! I am a complete beginner in terms of hosting a RSPS but I am looking to get into Java coding as well as running my own server. However, due to having no experience I am a bit unsure where to start. So here are my questions; - What is the best 317 source to use for a beginner? - What is the best client to use which will work for the source suggested? Those are my main questions really, I have looked in the downloads sub-section and there is a wide range of available sources, however I am unsure which one would be suitable for me to begin with, so any suggestions would be great! If you have any other useful tips or suggestions then I will gladly take them onboard! Thank You.

 11. Hi There :) Not sure is this is the place to post it. A little about me. Well im 18 my name is Cameron and I have just recently picked up my old deserted passion of playing RuneScape! Im a first year university student studying computer science. I love gaming and want to have a future of possibly developing games. I did learn and educate myself a few years back on RSPS and now that im older i want to create my very own or become part of a successful team. Im very hard working and easy to work with, friendly, mature and patient. Im looking for anyone who would be willing to take on a beginner coder, i have little to intermediate experience in java, python and html. Cheers, Cameron

 15. Hey, Musicmasta Here Im going to Show You the basics in coding a 508 loading 525 cache XD Step 1: Downloading Winrar Click Here To Go To The Winrar Download Page If you have Windows Vista Or Windows 7 you should probably download the x86 (32 bit) one if your not vista or windows 7 download the 64 bit download Step 2: Getting A Source Up And Running Well this part is pretty simple XD You need a Source & Client Obv... Click Here For a 508 Loading 525 Cache Source (My V1 I removed because leechers before Runelocus got reset lol) Click Here For a 508 Loading 525 Cache Client (Connects to my Rofl-Pvp V1 Source) P.S. Information on client stuff will be later on in the post... Step 3: Downloading Java Ok, To Download Your Java Click Here To Download JDK1.6.0_20 and Jre6 (all in one!) Click Here To Download Java For Your Computer! Sorry it's been a year since i've downloaded java so i can't help there Step 4: Creating a No-ip Ok Go to No-ip.com and create a new account... Once you have done that click Add a host. Type the beginning of your no-ip(Not the whole thing not like thatscape.no-ip.biz just like thatscape lol the next part will tell you the .no-ip.biz) Ok click the little button to the Right that says like zapto.org click that and change it to whatever you want. Then, Click Create Host and you will need to download the No-ip client and run it once it is run it will update your no-ip's and you will be good to go:) Step 5: Changing the Names! Ok So Heres the files your going to open. Player.java, SocketListener.java, Commands.java, Startup.java, And Rs2LoginProtocol. Player.java would be found in Model to get to model go into the src folder then follow through opening all of the folders untill you see alot of folders (content, io, model, net, util, world then theres a bunch of Java files. open models and click Player.java To find SocketListener.java Go into the folder where you were before you opened the model folder and click net in net there will be SocketListener.java. To find Commands.java from Net open packethandler and the file right below ActionButtons is Commands.java. Next To find Startup.java in the folder where there was a bunch of folders and some java files (Located src/net/com/RoflPvp) Open Startup.java its around the bottom. Finally, RS2LoginProtocol Open net again then click codec and RS2LoginProtocol is in there. Now For the Name Changing In Player.java your going to search for viewingBankTab and further to the right of that same line it will say Bank of Rofl-Pvp or Bank of RoflPvp. Change the Rofl-Pvp To Whatever you want your Server name to be save the file and close it your done there for now. then Look in your SocketListener.java Search for Rofl and you will find something like "Starting Rofl-Pvp on port: " + port Change Rofl-Pvp to Your Server name again. Then in commands.java search Rofl-Pvp Change Every Result you get to your Servers name. Also Open Rs2LoginProtocol and search Rofl-Pvp and change it to your server's name aswell. Next up and the last thing go into Startup.java and search Rofl and everything related to Rofl-Pvp in there Change it To your server name. We're Done with Changing the names now XD. Step 6: Creating a Command and Giving yourself Owner Rights Files To Open: Commands.Java Ok So, In your Commands.java file Search public boolean ownerRights(Player p) { You will find something like this: public boolean ownerRights(Player p) { String users[] = {"roflmaodude1","99","dennis", "est pker"}; Where thats at Erase all of the names and add this "YOUR INGAME NAME HERE" where the names are. (Don't Use Capitals AT ALL lol or it won't take effect to your character.) Then Search roflmaodude1 Replace My name with Your Ingame Name. Next to Create a Command The beginning of the command would be like this if (cmd[0].equals("command here")) { Next Below that line you would add what the command does ill give you a command that add's items if (cmd[0].equals("cash") && ownerRights(p)) { Engine.playerItems.addItem(p, 995, 10000000);<----Add's The Item(995 = item Id 1000000 = amount) p.getActionSender().sendMessage(p, "Here's 10m");<---- Sends the player a message } P.S. to make a message in a command add p.getActionSender().sendMessage(p, "Your Message Here"); Here's a Teleportation Command this will take you to Edgeville if (cmd[0].equals("edge")) { p.teleportTo(3087, 3502, 0); p.getActionSender().sendMessage(p, "Welcome To Edgeville"); } You can change that around you will eventually learn to code commands much more if you code long enough. Step 7: Adding an NPC into the Server Files Opened: npcspawn.cfg (To Find This open Build then Data then npcs and open the file) Really Simple. spawn = #### XXXX YYYY H 0 0 0 0 0 Npc Name
the
#### represents the Npc Id so change the #### to whatever Npc this is. the XXXX represents the X coordinate if you go on the server and do ::coords you will get something like X: 3087 Y: 3502 H: 0 the X is what you would replace the XXXX with, The YYYY is what the Y Coordinate is ( Y: 3502) the H is the Height usually you would want your Npc on Height 0 because that's Ground level thats your choise though. Step 8: Changing The Starter Files Opened: Startup.java Ok so to change the starter your going to open up Startup.java and your going to search for player.setCoords(2330, 3688, 0); Below that there will be a few messages then there will be s Engine.playerItems.addItem(player, 1323, 1); Then a bunch of other addItems Change the 1323, 1 and the things like that below it to The Items you want 1323 is the Item Id and 1 Is the Item Amount Compile in the Commands folder It's either Build.bat, Build.cmd, Compile.bat, or Compile.cmd and your done with the source for now Now to do the Client! Step 9: Editing The Client Files To Open: Client.java, Class110.java, Applet_Sub1.java, and Loader.java Ok Firstly, in Applet_Sub1.java search for Rofl-Pvp and you should find something like Rofl-Pvp 517 Change that to your server name and your done in that file lol im not getting into Int's and custom models ill make another tutorial for that Secondly, in Client.java search 43594 and you can change that to the port you wish to host your server on:) Thirdly, Open Loader.java and Class110.java and your going to search for 127.0.0.1 in them and change them to your No-ip Easy Enough? Your Client will now connect to your server through your No-ip. Finally, Compile Using Build.bat And Your Done! Step 10: Anything else that you need Leave a Reply If there's anything else you need help with leave a reply and i will add it to this post. Good luck out there all you New Coders XD Step 11: Contact Me For Support If you need any help and i haven't replied to a request you've asked for in a reply contact me at [email protected] Good Luck Again And Cya Later 508 loading 525 Cache Webclient This is the webclient I released today, it's very easy to use, easier than this in fact. It only works as a webclient though, all information changed in ClientSettings.java
 16. I've been looking for a source client to work on and I found 2. Hybrid PVP and Project Insanity. Project Insanity's client compiler does not work ; spent most of yesterday trying to fix. Hybrid PVP has it's own problems and won't coroperate with me. My last resort before looking for help was InsidiaX and one of the downloads ; client or source does not have a working download link. Comment below what I should use & thank you for reading (:
 17. Here is a simple way I have made the concept of the ever popular dicing into a 508 server. This was made in 2 minutes and takes no real effort to add in besides copy and pasting it in. But, its still a neat idea. Difficulty: */***** (Beginner) Tested on: Pur3zscape source, but any 508-525 should do, maybe even higher/lower. Files modified: ItemSelect.java Procedure: Copy and Paste Step 1. Open ItemSelect.java, Find a "break;". Then after that, add this:
//dicing case 2957: // Dice bag item aka druid pouch int randomDice = Misc.random(100); // random dicing numbers 0-100 for (Player pl : Server.engine.players) { //for all the players in the server... if (pl != null) { //...who are not nulls. if (randomDice == 0 || randomDice == 1) { //should the dice numbers given be 0 or 1, impossible sum for two dice. randomDice = 2; //sets the dice sum to 2 instead. } p.requestAnim(422, 0); //the closest to a "roll" emote, its a punch emote, change to something closer if you please. pl.getActionSender().sendMessage(pl, "[DICER] "+p.username+" has rolled a "+randomDice+" with the dice."); //announces the results. } } break;
So an example line would be like: [DICER] Kennelz has rolled a 49 with the dice. Save, compile and run.

 20. Ok so im a beginner and i know a little about coding but i was just wondering about which Source / client would be good to start out on. It would be greatly appreciated. :p
 21. So this is my first time programming and making a Pserver or any of this Jazz. And I have some questions as a noobie, of course. First off, besides basic, what is a good programming language for a beginner? I know a little VB and Basic, but not much else. Second, where can I get runescapes actual source code? For those interested I have no intention of putting up a Pserver exactly like RS. I just want to start with a premade source code that's not even 1/10 off the mark, and work from there, so I can make a game close to RS, but not exactly alike. Third, what tools, if any, can help me turn the source code towards 8-bit style game play? Four, what is a good image editor to turn stuff 8-bit? Paint? Gimp? Photoshop? Sumo? Five, I suppose you see where I am going with this now aren't you? What would I use to change the back ground to a 3d style 8-bit? Six, yes I like 8-bit. Seven, what tools are easy for a beginner? Eight, are RSC client and tools that much different from current RS tools? Thank you for reading. If you have any suggestions for a beginner please tell me.
