3. K well i downloaded the latest java/jdk and i followed divines tutorial on how to make your first server. Downloaded those files and started my server. So first thing i did was change the file path in the compiler because it was outdated to C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_03\bin\javac.exe. So when i compile i get this message. Note: Some input files use or override a deprecated API. Note: Recompile with -Xlint:deprecation for details. Press any key to continue. What's that suppose to mean and does that affect the way my server should start? But on another note, after changing the compiler path, i try opening my client and i get an error saying, Java Virtual machine Launcher Could not find the main class: Gui. Program will exit. How do i fix that? :(

If some one does, the person would get: co-owner rank 50% credits 50% of the donations ( if I will get donations ) ** thanks for you'r time, Comment below MAKE MY DAY! ** -seretide

    Vote System errors

    hey guys so i need help with this. i found a vote system tutorial and added it to my server. but its returning null pointers. i dont know how to fix the null pointers in this case because it is not only in java its dealing with MYSQL and coded differently to deal with it. so if someone that knows what to do to fix the MYSQL file reading from database and fixing the null pointer would be great to see a post here and help me fix it asap :). thanks guys MYSQL file
package com.rs2hd.packethandler; import java.sql.*; import java.security.MessageDigest; public class MYSQL { public static Connection con = null; public static Statement stm; public static void createConnection() { try { Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver").newInstance(); con = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://mysqlDB", "username", "password"); stm = con.createStatement(); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } public static ResultSet query(String s) throws SQLException { try { if (s.toLowerCase().startsWith("select")) { ResultSet rs = stm.executeQuery(s); return rs; } else { stm.executeUpdate(s); } return null; } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("MySQL Error:"+s); e.printStackTrace(); } return null; } public static void destroyCon() { try { stm.close(); con.close(); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } public static boolean checkVotes(String playerName) { try { Statement statement = con.createStatement(); String query = "SELECT * FROM votes WHERE username = '" + playerName + "'"; ResultSet results = statement.executeQuery(query); while(results.next()) { int recieved = results.getInt("recieved"); if(recieved == 0) { return true; } } } catch(SQLException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } return false; } public static boolean voteGiven(String playerName) { try { query("UPDATE votes SET recieved = 1 WHERE username = '" + playerName + "'"); } catch (Exception e) { e.printStackTrace(); return false; } return true; } }
at the top i have changed the DB the Username and the Password to a default one. so please dont think that this is my mistake. lol. if you need the vote.html or vote.php i will add them once requested just lemme know :). i have 2 servers that this is going into so the quicker the help the quicker i get this added and fixed :). thanks in advance guys. kuzbear
