1.
Should move this to services
I am fine with that if someone does!
  2. I noticed some people have lack of patience, including myself at times. Although I have questions myself still when it comes to private servers, I am offering my help in exchange for RS3 gold. My Skype is Cjbeforlife, we would be doing it over team viewer, so it would be a learning experience for you as well. We can talk about what you want done and cost over Skype, as I said I still have my own questions so if it is something I cannot do I will notify you prior so you don't waste time or your gold. If this was an inappropriate spot for my post I apologize feel free to remove it. :)
  3.
Hey everyone note: this is for blank source and client. So the first thing, (Main error) is that when i make a tele command, such as home command, and i save and compile, it doesnt work on the server. even tho im sure i have right codes. but i have a feeling that my compiler isnt working :l 2nd thing, Shops. i have added over 20 shops to it, but cant find the npcs.... for example when i spawn zeke, because hes one of the shops, when i trade him the shop is empty, and he just says on top of him "trade me for super shop" or w,e it is.. and for shopkeeper same empty shop and says something else. 3rd thing, (the edit) when a staff member logs in, for example me, it says "Owner and coder pro has logged in" but i wanted to add crowns next to it. so opened the client.java, edited it, added next to the text from each sides "<img=3>", saved, compiled. then got on the server. it said "<img=3>owner and coder pro has logged in<img=3> Thx for reading
It appears someone has answered your questions already, but as far as the multiple posts. It tends to frustrate people, trust me the first one gets seen, I have waited days for a reply that fixed my issue, its all a learning experience. I'm not here to bash on you, just some advice maybe next time add Skype info, a lot of people will just add you and help real fast. And if someone gives you a hard time for not knowing something just forget about it and move on. Good luck.
  4. Anyone happen to have Squeel of Fortune sprites laying around in .gif for a 718? Looking to just toss them in the cache with sprite editor. I took them from another source, and converted to .gif from .png but they are all blurry. Looking for something that looks nice. Or if someone knows of a program that will convert A LOT of .png to .gif at once and still keep the same size/quality? Because I have the sprites. Just can't convert them without losing the detail! [Solved] For anyone having the same issue I figured out a quick simple way to do it. Just open ALL the pictures at one time in Photoshop, there is no save all button, but what I did was create an action. The action recorded me saving the file for web in a .gif form, then closing out of the photo. I then clicked the action and it did it very quickly for every one of my photos!

    Client Cache question!
you don't put the cache in the client. The cache is all done server sided ffs#@!#[email protected]
For example this is what I went to in my previous clients Loader to change where it downloaded the cache.... public static String getCacheDir() { return System.getProperty("user.home") + "/Guardian718/guardian/live"; } } None of the new clients I am working on have that in Loader. And I cannot find anything similar, so I am trying to figure out how to make the same thing happen.

    Client Cache question!
you don't put the cache in the client. The cache is all done server sided ffs#@!#[email protected]
I am talking about the directory! Correct me if I am wrong but the client cannot load the server without knowing where the cache is located, example.... C:/user/Guardian718/guardian/live and I am trying to locate where in the client I need to update this so that it loads my sources cache, my sources cache is in the data folder and I understand that completely, I am trying to understand how to updated the cache DIRECTORY in the client. Do you get what I am saying? I am not trying to be rude I just feel like a broken record lol. Cache directory may not be the proper pronunciation so correct me if I am wrong please.

    Client Cache question!
Use code tags. Anyways, 718's are different. You put the cache in the source. In data/cache/(then all the cache files) , you don't have to change anything in the client except for the sub revision (loader) to match the custom client build in settings (source). And of course the ip.
My issue is the cache directory, I have a different cache in my source than the client has directed to, how do I change it so that the client goes to the correct location, rather than something else, because it is trying to load cache that is not there I believe.

    Client Cache question!

java.io.FileNotFoundException: http://xilitclickowner.no-ip.biz/clienterror.ws?
that's whats throwing the error, it cant find the file
So I am guessing that is where my cache directory belongs?
  10. Hey guys, I am currently trying to switch clients, due to the fact that mine is having some issues. I am switching to a matrix 718 client. My cache directory needs to be C:/users/christian/Guardian718/guardian/live how do I change this in the new client, being that its all set to auto-download matrix? I get this when trying to run the client while my server is live.... I poked around trying to change the cache, but I failed I feel like, so once I am directed the right way I will just unzip a fresh file and redo the correct steps. But even without tampering with anything besides the IP I get this error, so I know its something to do with the cache. Any and all help is appreciated! Thank you! Java jre confusion!
There's nothing wrong with learning something new. The wrong thing is to know nothing about rockets, and then go into nasa and say "Hey I know nothing about rockets but I just started a space exploration company. How do you build rockets?" That's ridiculous. You need to study the basics and build from there before you go on to actually doing anything with your skills. It's ridiculous for people that don't know ANYTHING about programming to pick up a source, follow a few tuts and put it online, then call themselves a private server. Seriously, you wouldn't start a new particle accelerator project without knowing a GREAT DEAL of physics. Much less if you know nothing at all about physics...But yet, it's okay for this field? You think "Oh there's the source, a bunch of tuts, and a help forum. I can do this then despite the fact I have 0 knowledge on the field!" What's more, you then take this as negative criticism, that I'm doing nothing but putting you down. Quite the contrary. I AM helping you. If you want to truly invest your time in something worthwhile, that will benefit you in everything you do, go learn the basics. Learn basic Java syntax and programming paradigms. Find out how to do general things by reading programming books, setting challenges for yourself that are within your grasp for your current level and then progress from there. Don't jump into something that's too much for you to handle because that's ridiculous. I could say the same to you, but at least then I'd know what the hell I was talking about.
This is a pointless argument at this point.

    Java jre confusion!
This is because java 7 does not contain the netscape javascript package as standard distribution. You can download it seperately or remove the code. It is used for error stuff etc I believe. It fails to compile all files behind this therefore making it unable to complete and thus not all files are java 7. Resulting in such an error.
This could be the cause of the white screen issue? And to remove just delete "import netscape.javascript.JSObject; from class466.java so it stops searching for something that is probably not there? Or is this something helpful I should figure out how to fix? Feel free to skype me if you have spare time, maybe this can go a little faster? Skype: Cjbeforlife
Are you sure your client is completly compatible with your cache? Not every cache works with every client. Also with IDE you can easy fix errors, it shows them were they are and they even give you some suggestions. unfortunately there are to much people who like to point others down and never help/share there knowledge.
I agree, and say it wasn't compatible with my cache, is there a way for me to fix this? And how come it opens and works for me, but other users get that white screen? Shouldn't it not work in my case also if it was the cache?
