    [317] Sanctuary

Well, I wanted to use Hyperion, but I'm a noob and I can't use an IDE, so I'm going to use PI.

I believe that's your opinion, not option. I think I'm going to go with Hyperion, it seems the best overall, and no one's giving me any ideas of how they compare, so I'll have to make an executive decision and go with Hyperion. Thanks, I'm sure this will turn out better than my current server.

Does anyone have any input? If you do, please provide a reason why you prefer one base over another or why one is worse than the others. I also made this post because I might want to include some different information here later.

Hello Runelocus, I'd like to introduce you to my latest project, Sanctuary 317. My current forums can be found at edgescape.co.cc. The project base is Project Insanity, because I'm a noob and I can't use an IDE. I'll be posting a layout for progress on the server in a bit. Combat: Not yet, I'll add this later. Skills: Agility: The animations are wrong and I need to add other agility arenas. Construction: (Yes! There WILL be construction!) Cooking: Need to add animations and probably options to cook different amounts instead of just cooking them all at once. Crafting: Farming: Firemaking: Fishing: Need to add animations and the names of things you catch in the chat. Right now it just says "You catch a fish." Every time. Fletching: Herblore: Hunter: Mining: Doesn't show the correct pickaxe that you are wielding while mining, just shows bronze. Prayer: Bury and use on altar work, although on altar has no emote/GFX. Runecrafting: Does emote with Pure Rune Essence, but does not craft runes. Slayer: Smithing: Thieving: Woodcutting: Banking: Store 1, 5, 10, All, X Withdraw 1, 5, 10, All, X Swap Insert Noting Item Saving Item Position Saving Trading Offer 1, 5, 10, All, X Remove 1, 5, 10, All, X Checking If Player Has Enough Room Confirm Screen Clicking the request in the chat to accept trade Untradable Items Minigames Barrows I'll add more minigames as I make them. Emotes Performing emotes Skillcape emotes I may add quests later, but I'm not sure. If you have any suggestions post them here and I may add them to this list.
  5. Maybe you should put what is included in each part, I bet there are people looking for a specific simple thing to do, and they don't want to sift through every video to find one thing. I was going to watch them, but I'd like to know if what I'm looking for is in the videos before I watch them.
  6. Yeah, I don't really like those, I just added them because I figured other people would.
  7. Banned for continuing this thread.
  8. Who's dick do I have to suck to get some help? Whatever, maybe I'll figure it out myself by some amazing feat.
  9. Can anyone help me? I'll be home all day today, so I can take messages on msn. I might be busy sometimes, but I'll try to check this thread often during the day. I really need help! Please!
  10. Oops, thanks for pointing out the duplicate Apocalyptic, I'll get rid of it. Thanks for you input.
  11. Oh, that's no reason to give up on RSPSes, I'm not going to quit just because I can't get a webclient to work, although it is frustrating. Off topic: The hyperdrive is working properly, but the weasel basketball is causing an error in the peanut butter cookies.
  12. Well, I've never gotten a webclient to work, but I feel like I'm really close this time. I finally got it to download the cache, but when it finishes downloading, it just says that it finished downloading cache.zip, and nothing else happens. Here's a picture (as if it'll help): If you want to see it for yourself, click here: http://edgescape.servegame.com/webclient/
  13. Hey guys, I want to rename my server, but I'm not sure what to change it to. I've come up with some things that could be the name or the name could include, but I don't know which one to use. Here's a list of the names I've thought of: I'm also open to suggestions, if you have any. Any feedback is much appreciated, thanks!

    TinyChat Fun!

Dammit, I missed that? Do it again! I must see!
  15. I was searching for a tutorial on how to add a character token the other day, but all I could find was a tutorial for PI. So, I'm going to make a tutorial for anything that's not PI. Requirements to complete this tutorial: -A server -A brain -Common sense -The ability to search for keywords in your Java files. If you don't know, a character token is a line in the character file that tells the server information about the character. For example, one line might be character-q15 = 3 In which case, the quest that is declared as q15 is on the 3rd step of completion. The first thing to do when adding a character token is to declare the int or boolean. For the sake of the tutorial, I'm going to be explaining it using an int named tokentut. If you want to add a boolean (true/false), just follow the tutorial, but replace the int with boolean. To declare an int or boolean, open client.java, find another int or boolean (ctrl + f if you're using notepad) and search for "public int" without the quotes. Under a public int, put public int tokenTut = 0 or, if you're declaring a boolean, add public boolean = false after that, find your other character tokens by searching for "character-username". Around that token there should be all of the tokens that go into your character files. Now to add one. To add the actually token, add this in the list of character tokens: } else if (token.equals("tokentut")) { tokenTut = Integer.parseInt(token2); BE SURE TO ADD IT IN THE RIGHT PLACE! Make sure you add it in between the beginning of a token and the end of another. Also be sure to change "tokenTut" to the name of your int and the name of the token you want to add. After you add that, search for one of the tokens in that list. It doesn't matter which one, it's just to get to the next part. When you search for it, you should see something like this: characterfile.write("character-tz = ", 0, 15); characterfile.write(Integer.toString(TzWave), 0, Integer.toString(TzWave).length()); characterfile.newLine(); I searched for "character-tz", so that's what I found in the list. after "newLine();" and before "characterfile.write" add this: characterfile.write("character-tokentut = ", 0, 21); characterfile.write(Integer.toString(tokenTut), 0, Integer.toString(tokenTut).length()); characterfile.newLine(); Again, remember to replace "tokenTut" with the name of your token. Replace the last number (in this case, 21) with the number of characters inside the quotes. If you do not do this, your character token will not work correctly. "character-tokentut = " has 21 characters inside the quotes, so the number must be 21. Almost done! Save and close client.java and open Player.java. The name of this file may be different from server to server, but you should be able to find it easily. Find the public ints and add the same int as before: public int christmas2010 = 0 Save and close Player.java, and you're done! Now you can apply this character token to whatever you need! Thanks for reading this tutorial, I hope it helps someone.
