The world has been engulfed by a zombie apocalypse, however, you, a 'survivor', wash upon the shore of this God forsaken world. Zombies roam through towns & cities, getting in your way of the precious items that you need to survive. Items can be found in houses, shops, banks, barracks, fortresses, or anywhere with a door to get into, or a ladder to climb up to. You need essentials to survive. You need food, and you need water. 3. Hey guys! I've gotten a ton done recently, and I thought I'd update you all on what are plans are and where things are going. For starters, later today or tomorrow we should have a really nice looking landing page. Updates that I've gotten done (these are all the updates that I've done since the last beta update. Note, the beta has not been updated yet) Fixed most our of client issues. These were cache related and things should be much MUCH smoother now, with less crashes. Very happy about this because it drives me crazy when there's something hindering the ability for people to actually play the game. Worked heavily on rebalancing zombies. What exactly changed? Well, now zombie's max hits scale with your combat level. This is good for 2 reasons. One, newer players wont be getting wrecked by zombies. Two, higher players wont be able to just forget about zombies because they do no damage. Also, I did a lot of tweaking and fine tuning to the zombies' "attack levels". Added in all stairscases, ladders, etc. Plus, fixed the several doors that were previously un-openable. Fixed the bandit system. You become a bandit for a short period of time when you attack someone when they did not attack you. Your bandit rank will then increase when you kill players. Faction guards now attack bandits (players with skulls above their heads). Fixed the glitch where sometimes if you picked an item up it gave you a lot more than it should. Fixed the glitch where spawned items were not disappearing. There were a couple small glitches with backpacks, I fixed those. Also, apparently backpacks were not even on the item spawn tables, but they are now. Added in refilling water containers such as buckets, vials, bottles, bowls, and jugs. Note, you cannot drink from vials. Fixed the beehive gate from opening. Made raw bear meat eatable and cookable. Relooked at cooking, and tweaking the rate at which food is burnt. Not much of a change, may need more tweaking when we release. Redid all the zombie drop tables. They now do not drop items that are not suppose to be in the game, and they drop better items for our type of server. Added in the chance to be poisoned by a zombie when they hit you. This isn't a large chance, but will happen to you on occasion and does not do a ton of damage. There was a fletching glitch to where you couldn't fletch, but this was because we had the wrong Knife item ID in the item spawn tables. This has been fixed. Made chaos altars 'pray-able'. Buffed XP rates. Fixed the glitch where if you dropped an item, it would follow you around when you loaded a new region. Fixed the glitch where bears, chickens, and rabbits only had 1 hp. Gave bears a couple more things of raw meat per drop. Added in the agility shortcuts of falador. Fixed the attack animations of dragon battleaxe, bone club, toktz-xil-ek, brine sabre, harry's cutlass, frying pan, cleaver, and the walking stick. Added in the effect of equipping a walking stick, where you do not lose run energy. Lowered the rate at which you regained run energy by 30%. The previous rate was just quite over powered because you could really just run around forever. When you die, your hunger and thirst is now reset. Fixed the glitch to where when you "study" a world map, after already previously studying one, it acted like you did not already study one. There were a couple item spawns that were random items, noted, nulled, etc. This was because we made a typo when making the spawn tables. This is now fixed. A couple more small things that have slipped my mind... I'll be updating the beta later tonight, and then hopefully we can release for live tomorrow! I still have some more things to finish up, but things are looking good. Later tonight, after I have updated the beta, the beta will be made LIVE for all players to play. Thank you all so much for all your help playing the beta and testing it out! We fixed so much content and it sets us up great for the future.

 5. Pretty much a complete copy of my project. http://www.runelocus.com/forums/showthread.php?105567-RuneZ-II-The-Original-Zombie-Survival-Server Also, Kyle was found guilty of originally stealing my source back in 2013 and using it for development. Take this at your own risk, and please note that their idea is a copy of my original idea.
"You should learn from your competitor, but never copy. Copy and you die." ~ Jack Ma
6. Hey everyone, Patch 0.6.1 contains being able to cook any food at any level, fish at any spot at any level, smith anything at any level, and the crafting system. All of this is related to our 'Unique Skilling System'. New Items: Land Mine Splint Barricade Inivisble land mine Silver Torch Bear Trap Bandage Programming: - Gave the ability to fish/cook/smith anything at any level. - For fishing, your rate of catching is slower the lower your level is. - Added in higher chances of burning food if your cooking level is lower. - Added in the chance to break your materials while smithing if your smithing level is lower than the actual level it is in RS. The chance of breaking is as follows: (Real RS level) - (your level)%. So if your 10 levels under the actual RS level of smithing something, there is a 10% chance your bar will break. - Added in the crafting system. Programming: - Created the traps system - Added in land mine, bear trap, and invisible land mines - You can only have 1 trap setup at a time, added in dialogue asking if you want to remove your previous trap if you try to setup another - When you logout, your traps are removed - If your legs are broken, you cannot run - Bear traps will break your leg, but only do 75 damage.
 7. For obvious reasons, the Runescape skilling system was not designed for a type of game like RuneZ. Because of those reasons, we will be piloting a unique skilling environment that will be quite different than many are use to, while still holding key elements to that traditional system. Here are our current plans for skills in RuneZ. If a skill is not mentioned here (excluding combat skills) that means we have no current plans to implement it into RuneZ. (Note: These ideas and features could change before release & the * symbol means these numbers are very likely to change.) Woodcutting, Firemaking, Fletching, Mining Will stay the same as they are in Runescape. Fishing You can fish from all fishing spots from level 1, however the higher the level the faster you can catch that fish. The higher the tier of the fishing spot the more rare it is on the map, and these will have random locations that will change every server restart (every two days or so). Cooking - You can eat raw fish, but you have a chance of getting sick. 1/30* chance of getting sick from it. - You can cook food at any level, but the higher your cooking level the better chance you have of not burning it. Smithing - Can smith anything at any level, but your armor and weapons have a chance to break when making them. 1/50* chance for it to break. Herblore - Will follow their respective runescape level requirements Here are the only potions that will be in the game/be able to be made: antipoison attack regular strength regular defence reguler Combat potion super attack super energy potion super strength super defence ranging potion magic potion saradomin brew super combat potion Prayer - 2 Methods of training 1) Burying bones like normal. This will be relatively slow. 2) Pray at all the altars on the map, each altar will grant you XP, and if you pray at all the altars you will have 99. This may seem overpowered, however, we are just using the normal prayer book so there isn't much difference after level 70. Crafting Unique crafting recipe system. - Level 1: Can make bandages with with 2* pecies of bear fur. - Level 10: Can make a split for when you break your leg. 2* planks and a rope. - Level 20: Can make a barricade that you place on the ground. 3* planks and a rope. - Level 30: Can make a Land mine. These you place on the ground AND CAN BE SEEN BY OTHER PLAYERS on the ground. There will be a 5 second wind-up time. Hammer required. - Level 40: Anit-Zombie spray. This is made by placing an antipoison inside of a metal container. Severly damages all zombies around you. - Level 50: Diving Backpack. 8* bear fur, 1 pecie of string. Needle and thread required. - Level 60: Bear trap. Placed on the ground. Visible on the ground. 15* second stun duration. Made with 8 pecies of metal. Hammer required. - Level 70: Small bonesack backpack. 8* pecies of wolf fur and 3 bones. - Level 80: IED. Place 3* pecies of wolf fur on top of the land mine. Same damage, but becomes invisible on the ground. - Level 90: Large Bonesack backpack. 8* pecies of Larupia fur. 5 bones. - Level 99: Silver torch. 100% chance to cook any kind of food. Equip it, right click it in equipment, click cook, then you'll select the food you want to cook. Requires a gas canister every 20 uses. Thieving Thieving will be a lot different. There will be three tiers of chests placed across the map that, if the player has the required theiving level to pick, can be picked by the players and opened for loot inside. However, each chest can only be picked by the player every 3* hours so that the player can't just sit in front of the chest and breaking into it for it's items. Also, there will be certain doors throughout the map that will be locked shut and can only be opened by having a certain thieving level. Behind these doors will be better than average loot for that specific area. For both the chests and doors, the player will need a lockpick in order to break into them. - Level 1: Have the ability to pick tier 1 chests - Level 50: Have the ability to pick tier 2 chests - Level 75: Have the ability to pick tier 3 chests
 8. We have launched the forums! Go to http://www.runez.org to discuss the server and chat with other players!
 9. Hey everyone! Updates: Bought webhosting, a domain, and a genuine IPB forums license! Also, I purchased the VPS today to get ready for final development and the private beta. I've still been busy with classes but one of them is ending tomorrow so I should have more time on my hands. As far as content goes, I've added animals around the map (bears, wolves, rabbits, and chickens) along with their corresponding drops of meats, bones, etc. Lastly, the private beta will be our main way to fine-tune RuneZ! I'll be putting data collection systems in place to keep up with information that is critical to the success of RuneZ, but I cannot do it alone. I need people who are willing to play the server and test it to help me make it as good as it can be. Down below, you can find information on how to be apart of the RuneZ private beta. The beta will take place around the time of July 24th, and will last at least 5 days! StevenAbraham, as always, did a great job making this design!
 10. Yesterday I rewrote the NPC combat, NPC's hits now take into affect the player's armor, and defence level. I've also finished the dwarf survivor camp and burthorpe one. 11. I finished the Introduction Scene today, and I'll be uploading a video today or tomorrow.

After a very long hiatus I've returned to the RSPS scene to try and perfect my original idea, RuneZ. Through college I've learned a lot more about programming and will still be learning a lot more in the days to come. Through my new knowledge I'll have the tools to create a significantly better server than before. If you ever looked at the leaked source code of RuneZ 1, you'll see that I took a lot of 'shortcuts' in the code and didn't think things through, sort of "glued" it all together. That's not happening this time. I'm planning things out, and doing it right. The content in RuneZ 2 will also look and feel a lot different than the first. I'm going to be taking some different approaches to things that didn't work the first time. For example, I'm going to be dialing back the DayZ emulation a little bit. Before, my goal was to create DayZ, but inside of RuneScape. This sounded great at first but it's really hard to run a RSPS that way and made things quite difficult for myself, and players. In RuneZ 2, I'll still be going for about an 80-90% DayZ emulation, but with 10-20% RS themed ideas and content. You'll learn more about some of these ideas in the days to come, as for now I'd like to thank everyone for their support on this thread, but also in the past when RuneZ 1 was still alive. I'm starting on a fresh source, and not using any of the past RuneZ code except some of the work with treasure chests (tents in DayZ).
The Team [Spoiler=Read me!
