  1. This is more of a laugh at my pain type of thing but I've always been that guy that something doesn't work for even when it's tried and true. Over the past week I've downloaded 20 sources in hopes of getting something to use a test environment to practice. NONE of them have worked or have even been operable. Why me? XD [CENTER][IMG]http://i.gyazo.com/0a25c2c22826566ea44ca68d59b8ad79.png[/IMG][/CENTER]
  2. [quote name='VeRoCo']I get the Error Js5 Lol[/QUOTE] error_game_js5connect means (if I'm correct, here) that it isn't pinging the server or port that it's coded to connect to.
  3. Will use as a test environment for new ideas... Great man looks good but I'll be using it for practice.
  4. They are the only errors I have please help me. VERY much appreciation in advance. I'm in your hands. Error Messages in Console [IMG]http://i.gyazo.com/96bc7fb25e47f61eefaffce9ce62f25d.png[/IMG] Code on lines of error [IMG]http://i.gyazo.com/d0e39518e4d9a9da8df297942318955c.png[/IMG] -KeplerOG
  5. [quote name='squashy'][url]http://www.************.org/runescape-development/rs-503-client-server/tutorials/310326-error_game_js5connect.html[/url][/QUOTE] Thanks, Squashy! I figured out what site it was and just copied the end of the URL ;D
  6. [quote name='ZappyFun'][url]http://www.runelocus.com/forums/showthread.php?99807-How-to-add-your-server-client-in-Eclipse!&p=779199[/url] I think this is what your after.[/QUOTE] HEY! Thanks for that, friend :)
  7. Hey guys. I know how to Eclipse... But I don't know how my project files for an RSPS should be arranged. Do I just unpack server and client into one folder then open that folder in Eclipse? Any help would be appreciated :) (UNRELATED ERROR I NEED HELP WITH) Also, when running server and client, im getting the error "error_game_js5connect". Any help on that would be appreciated :)
  8. [quote name='StevenAbraham']seriously? I love everyone here but I wouldn't be seen dead wearing a runelocus t-shirt in public[/QUOTE] Who'd know what it was anyway... Doesn't necessarily have to say Runelocus.
  9. I love t-shirts. I love stickers. I'm a programmer. I'd love to get a Runelocus or RSPS programmer shirt or sticker for my car. I dunno, I just thought it would be cool...
  10. [quote name='Arix']Well, the reason to make a new source is because the ones released are JUNK. Other than that, yes to both and a client is also way too complex for the people here to remake it completely from scratch. And you're welcome.[/QUOTE] It's hard for me to belive the client is hard to re-create, although I'm new to RSPS world. I guess the client goes farther than it being a jframe with a panel that accepts a drawing of the gamescreen? Someone said that the original clients from back in the day were actually decompiled clients written by Jagex themselves.
  11. Thanks you to you both! So basically what I learned: anyone can make a server but it's a waste of time because there's already servers written with the RS2 protocol and no one makes a client because they all come from a reverse engineered version of a Jagex client and no one makes caches because they already exist because Jagex made 'em. GOOD TALK GUYS HELPED A LOT THANKS! -Kepler
  12. Hey guys. Title basically sums it up. I'm starting to get very confused here. Client is the game window, source is the game, but what the hell is a cache? Can you have a cache and client without a source and be okay? Can you have a client and source without a cache? Also, where am I supposed to find these to download and use as a starting point for my own RSPS. Furthermore, how do people make their own Client, Source, Cache, ect. without downloading one that was pre-made? Any help of this would be much appreciated! Thanks! I'm such a noob learning all this. Just need a little direction.
  13. Hey guys, I'm a pretty decent developer and want to take steps to develop my own RSPS with a couple friends of mine. We like the oldschool(ish) 525 era but we are eventually going to add D Claws, Chaotics, ect. The question is: What is the VERY BEST client + source to fit the criteria above? Thank you so much in advance for your time and help :) Help us make the next best thing! Our dev team is so psyched to put ourselves on the RSPS Community map.
